On Wednesday, March 6, 2019, staff from Bold Ocean and Schuyler Line Navigation Company participated in the annual Maritime Industry Congressional Sail-In. The Sail-In is an industry-wide event that allows representatives from the industry to meet with the men and women in Congress to educate them on the important of the U.S.-flag industry. This year, close to 200 industry representatives met with 195 members of Congress and their staff to discuss the importance of the U.S.-flag maritime industry in supporting the Department of Defense and the role the industry plays in commerce and foreign policy. The industry worked hard to educate lawmakers on the critical importance of having a strong and effective national maritime strategy that includes cargo preference requirements while supporting the Maritime Security Program and the Jones Act.
