In August 2018, SLNC Moku Pahu loaded wheat grown in Oregon as part of a USAID Food for Peace delivery destined for Yemen. More than 176,000 tons of wheat were shipped via U.S. and foreign flag vessels, carrying enough wheat to feed as many as seven million people for two months. Yemen has been torn apart by famine and civil war, making it the most serious humanitarian crisis currently in the world. SLNC Moku Pahu and her crew safely delivered the cargo to its final destination in October. Thank you to the captain and crew for undertaking this critical mission.
